Building for the Future Benefiting the
Junior League of Miami, Inc.

Linda Johnson, Foundation President, 2008-09
A Time-Honored Tradition
Since 1926, the Junior League of Miami (JLM) has been a major force producing trained women volunteers in the Miami community. JLM trains its members to provide service, leadership, and partnership with others to build better communities. It has fostered a multitude of projects promoting safe, healthy and nurturing environments for families, especially women and children in need.
Among the important projects the Junior League has helped establish are Children’s Home Society, Museum of Science, Inn Transition North and South, CHARLEE, Coral Gables Merrick House and many others.
The goal of the JLM Foundation is to protect this tradition of community service by increasing our endowment fund to at least $1,000,000. A solid financial base will secure the future work of the JLM. The 1926 Society was formed to achieve this goal.
Building For The Future
The Junior League of Miami Foundation was established in 2004 to help secure the funding of the Junior League of Miami as it grows into its eighth decade of service.
Among the many to envision the need to build for the future was Ronni Weksler Bermont. She was the Junior League of Miami President in 1989 and was an inspiration through her life of service until her death in 1993. She enhanced Junior League diversity among its members and, with her shared leadership style, sought to include all voices for those seeking to improve the lives of those most in need. The Ronni W. Bermont Endowment Fund for Community Projects, named in her honor, will continue to be a vital part of the Junior League of Foundation, Inc.
“It is not enough to look back with pride, justified as that pride may be. We must look forward with hope and confidence too. The real lesson of the past is that it shows what can be done in the future.”
Margaret Sanger
